Steve Shaw Keeps Busy.
I decided to produce an event dedicated to synthfunk, boogie & Detroit jit. All info at the WAVY page of the site or the Facebook event page.
That bossin’ trailer was made by the mysterious chief of T Shirt Party. Mad props.
Below is a mix that I made as waterpolo. You can play it from here, and if you feel like downloading it, you can get it from here.

So I’m getting in to making music again, after a long hiatus of waiting to be imbued with mind-blowing powers.
Unfortunately I’ve got bored of waiting, so you’ll have to put up with this growing collection of tracks instead.
Did I mention I’m now one third of the event organizers Wifey? Well guess what - I am. Here’s our next event, this Saturday 24th July, Big Chill House, Kings Cross, London. 9pm - 3am. Free before 10pm. £5 after.
GARAGE PIONEER ALERT! Best known for the chart success of ‘Girls Like Us’, Ian Wallman is one half of B15 Project and can also take much of the credit for starting Birmingham’s garage scene, beginning with his radio career in the mid-90s. A serious DJ with over 20,000 records in his collection, we had to pull some strings for this rare, one-off show that you should definitely catch - who knows when this will happen again!
R1 RYDERS ***BIRTHDAY SPECIAL***
Anyone who made it to our warehouse party last winter will know the damage to expect from these guys. Working with the percussion patterns of UK funky, R1 inject rubberised basslines and old-school adrenaline, making them one of the best new acts out there. Their Burnout EP was one of last year’s landmark releases, and this month sees them release their FULL THROTTLE EP. Expect new material!
BIRTHDAY SPECIAL: It’s R1’s MC Skeelo’s birthday on Saturday and, after midnight, turns into DJ Karnak’s! DOUBLE DROP BIRTHDAY BIG UPS! GET INVOLVED.
EFA & DJ SHANDY (CRAZYLEGS)
Crazylegs is our favourite and most consistently jaw-dropping club night in Bristol’s thriving music scene. Wideboy residents EFA & Shandy will be speeding up the motorways to join us on the night and dropping all kinds of madness upon arrival.

Finally here: I have a couple of articles in the first edition of Pop’Africana, an African fashion and art periodical hailing from New York City. It can be picked up in various places, including London. Check their site for more details.
Sticky & Lady Chann - Sticky Situation
Recently had a lot of fun taking part in the video shoot of the new single by Lady Chann and 2-step & dancehall don dada Sticky. I turn up at 3:03 looking in pain (cheers editor…). Other less famous people there included Lemar, The Heatwave, Toddla T andSkream.
On a serious note, this happened at Energy, a newly formed weekly night of dancehall music, replacing the critically acclaimed Hot Wuk series. Two weeks later the night was cancelled outright by the venue owner for no other reason than his narrow-minded views on bashment music.
Pathetic and bitterly disappointing for all.
